What does independence mean?

Independence has a different meaning and context for each of us because we’re unique creations. It’s important you get crystal clear about the meaning of “Independence” for YOU as someone 50 or above.

TIme – Being able to do what you want when you want with whomever you want.
Location – Not being tied to a single location, any physical location or driving to an office every day.
Financial – Being able to afford what you want when you want.

Over 50 – Ageism and “Generativity”

People over 50 I meet talk often to me about their real surprise about discovering how accomplished they truly are at this age. When you leverage your experience, skills and knowledge you’ll be able to engage fully with people who need your help, to ask questions, to be of service, to be a problem-solver and part of a solution.

I’m struck by the degree to which it’s hard for many people over 50 to make a transition to new things. A big problem is because they’ve got a mindset so attached to things of the past such as their old career or old job.

Another the reason I created the Coach Over 50 program is to provide a resource to teach, coach and mentor people over 50 so they can transform themselves.

50 is the time unfortunately for many that AGEISM starts to rear its ugly head. The way to manage and resolve this problem is to decide to be proactive.

Before anyone believes in you you’ve got to believe in yourself and follow a pathway to prove to yourself first that you’re not the same person you’ve been for the last couple of decades.

I’m constantly hearing and reading about how emotionally challenging it is for many people who are authentic, willing, capable, interested and committed to changing their own life and the lives of others. The GOOD NEWS is that it doesn’t have to be that way but you have to leverage what you know.

WE’RE CURRENTLY DROWNING in information.

The internet has evolved into a GIANT, never-ending TV broadcast channel – and so have our smart devices, laptops and computers and everything that has a screen that’s connected to the internet

No business or individual struggling with a major business or personal problem needs even more information to add to the information overload they have to deal with on a daily basis.
